Our gold vermeil jewelry has a 3 micron layer of solid gold on a sterling silver base. Our gold vermeil jewelry is marked with a 925 or 825 stamp, as the base material is sterling silver.
Our gold vermeil earrings can be worn 24/7 without any problems. Also the rest of our gold vermeil is pretty low maintenance, but to keep them looking its best avoiding scratching is key. Once there is a scratch fluids will get into the scratch, resulting into discoloration. Remove your rings before exercising or heavy lifting to prevent it from bending. Bending may cause a crack in the ring and once there is a crack fluids can get into the crack, resulting discoloration, also be careful when you are considering pairing with other pieces and avoid direct contact with chemicals, like lotions, perfumes, chloric, etc, as they will contribute to fading.
Buff gently with a dry microfiber cloth. Dirt and oil buildup can temporarily darken the appearance of the jewelry unless cleaned properly. Store separately in a dry space when not worn.
We work with 925 sterling silver, therefore most of our Sterling Silver jewelry is made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other nickel free metals. But as silver is a soft alloy we sometimes choose to work with 825 sterling silver to give the piece extra strength. 825 sterling silver is made from 82.5% pure silver and 17.5% other nickel free metals. Our silver is either marked with a 925 or 825 stamp.
Silver is a soft alloy, therefore, remove your jewelry before exercising
or heavy lifting, to avoid it from bending and breaking. Avoid chemicals and be careful with chlorine (like poolwater), as it can give silver a temporary very dark haze. Store your silver in dry place when not worn.
Silver always changes color over time. If you want silver to shine, it needs to be cleaned and polished every so often. Cleaning silver can be easily done by soaping it under the shower while wearing the silver or in a bowl with warm water and detergent-free soap. For severe discolored silver jewelry, cover the bottom of a bowl with aluminium foil, fill the bowl with warm water, put your jewelry in the bowl and add baking soda to the water. Leave this for 30 minutes or so, next place the jewelry in a bowl of warm water and detergent-free soap and scrub your jewelry lightly with a soft toothbrush, let it air dry or dry it with a soft cloth. Last but not least polish the jewelry with a polishing cloth. We offer free polishing cloths.
We carefully select cultivated pearls from oysters and freshwater mussels.
Pearls need proper care to last a lifetime. They should be put on last and taken off first. Pearls love being worn and improve with wear, gaining shine from the natural oils on your skin. They don’t like being stored away and their intrinsic luster will only improve when worn regularly. Pearls are sensitive, so avoid excessive temperatures and chemicals, like hair spray, hair dye, and perfume, they do not like chlorine - neither in swimming pools, nor in regular showers.
For routine care, wipe pearls with a soft and clean cloth after each wear. Store individually in a dry place when not worn. You can clean your pearls with a soft cloth moistened with water and a tiny bit of detergent-free soap.
